Founder & Lead Researcher
Dermafy — The Primary AI Physician — was founded by Yajat Deshpande, a visionary innovator passionate about bridging the gap between artificial intelligence, dermatology, and accessible healthcare. Driven by the urgent need to bring reliable medical diagnostics to underserved populations, Yajat set out to create a lightweight, mobile-ready AI tool capable of identifying skin conditions with precision and speed in real-world environments.
Yajat led the research, design, and development of an AI physician model that leverages a classification model and custom dermatology datasets to detect fungal skin infections. His work merges biotechnology, computer vision, and public health to reimagine how dermatological care can be delivered at scale.
As Dermafy's Founder & Lead Researcher, Yajat guides the organization's innovation strategy, oversees technical development, and builds partnerships to expand the platform's impact globally. His leadership reflects a commitment to combining cutting-edge technology with a human-centered mission: making quality healthcare accessible to everyone.
